Some people may see dog obedience training as something that is not needed. However, the truth is if more dogs had obedience training there would probably be less displaced dogs in the world. There are several reasons why obedience training would benefit both dog and owners alike. Dogs that go through an obedience training will be a more controlled pet, in turn getting a more loving pet owner. Pet owners have to remember it is not something that is done overnight.
Pet owners and pets alike can learn many new things in an obedience course or class. After you go home though you will have to continue to do the things you have learned. Of course it is great to treat your pet like a family member but just like any other human being, or pet they still need to be shown how to do things, and that is what they look at their owner to do. By taking the classes they will show you the proper way of doing things, and explain to you as to why you have to do them. So if things are done properly, there should be no bad behavior later. Hence, no bad behavior on either end equals a loving pet and owner relationship in the end.
