I really don’t know what I would have done without my Brother Sewing Machine over the last few months! My son suddenly announced that he wanted to take a Gap Year, and travel with Camp International to Borneo. I really didn’t have any idea how we would finance it! As a family, we all sat together and had a brain storming session to see what ideas we could come up with. We all played to our strengths. My sister has a knack for baking, so any fetes and fairs we could do, we had a cake stall. We had the obligatory raffle and had generous prize donations from local traders, but our biggest fundraiser was items I had made on my sewing machine! Bunting, pin cushions, draught excluders, door stops and tote bags all sold faster than my sister’s hot cakes! I gained a new found enthusiasm for sewing and I have an extremely happy son, on his way to Borneo!
